OSDE is now accepting applications for the Oklahoma School
Testing Program (OSTP) standard-setting process for the newly aligned state
assessments. Standard setting is the process that allows Oklahoma educators to
make expert judgments about the content a student should master before he or she is reported in a specific performance level (e.g., Advanced).
During this process, participants will analyze assessment
content and recommend cut scores for each performance level.
Please inform your district’s school counselors,
administrators and teachers of this opportunity to participate in the standard-setting process.

The
deadline is fast approaching to submit your district’s independent audits for
the 2015-16 school year. The total amount of federal expenditures determines
the type and submission deadline for each district’s audit. If a district had
federal expenditures totaling more than $750,000 during a fiscal year, it is required to submit a single (program-specific) audit to the State
Department of Education no later than March 31, 2017.
Any
district not meeting the March 31 deadline in accordance with Uniform
Administrative Requirement 2 C.F.R Part 200.338 will have all federal award
payments withheld until the audit is received.
Audits
may be submitted by email to katherine.black@sde.ok.gov
or by mail to:
Oklahoma
State Department of Education

The
Oklahoma Library of Digital Resources has expanded to include new resources and
tools for elementary and middle school teachers. More than 100 Oklahoma
teachers have worked with OSSBA over the last year to
collect the resources and match them with Oklahoma’s academic standards.
The
high school courses include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, geometry,
English 1, English 2, biology, chemistry, personal finance, Oklahoma
history and United States history. The new digital resources are for grades
pre-K through 8th grade in math, English/Language Arts, science and social
studies and are aligned to Oklahoma’s new academic standards.
The
resources include audio and video files, apps, digital textbooks and a
variety of other online tools. Most of the resources are free or low cost and
designed to help schools leverage technology to improve student achievement.
The library
is housed in iTunes U and can also be accessed at www.okdigitalresources.com.
All of the resources are accessible on any internet-connected device, including
non-Apple devices.

The Oklahoma Online Course
Catalog (OOCC) is now accessible at www.osocp.ok.gov. The OOCC contains a list of courses made
available by approved course providers with a registered state contract with
the State of Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Supplemental Online
Course Program (OSOCP) establishes a framework for districts to offer
supplementary online courses to students in their district. As the title
suggests, the OSOCP does not replace traditional schooling—rather, it
supplements it. The OSOCP enhances students’ access to curriculum via online
courses taken through their home district.

Dr. Lisa Daniels at info@osocp.ok.gov or
