The newly renovated Capitol building was the setting for the expo for the first time in eight years, and this year was the first expo since prior to the pandemic. About 350 people attended, taking advantage of meeting with the health, dental and vision plan reps, health screenings and flu shots, as well as meeting with the voluntary payroll deduction vendors. All took place on the second floor.
We are glad to bring the expo back and hope to expand to Tulsa in 2023.

The awards reception hosted by Thrive for all the participants in this year’s Windy Cup Tour was a great way to honor those who traveled to different areas across the state for the tournaments. Teams were comprised of state employees and retirees from ten agencies. After the food and fellowship, trophies were awarded to the top teams. Planning has already begun for next year’s tour, and we hope to see participation grow even more.

Basketball league making a return
Meetings have started to bring the employee co-ed basketball league back after a three-year absence, and we are planning for a possible spring and fall league. We are securing a new location, the Oklahoma Athletic Center, formerly the Lighthouse, at 3333 W. Hefner Road.
More information will be coming before Christmas, so start gathering a team or sign up as an individual to be placed on a team. We are planning on two different levels of play, so anyone can play from beginner to advanced. If interested, please email thrive@omes.ok.gov.
