Hello, Oklahoma Primary Care Provider!
We are excited to share that a statewide program has recently launched in Oklahoma to support primary care providers' provision of pediatric mental health care in the primary care setting. This program is affectionately known at OKCAPMAP and is formally called Oklahoma Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health Access Program. More information follows and a one pager is attached.
OKCAPMAP aims to support the primary care provider’s provision of pediatric mental health care in the primary care setting through child and adolescent psychiatry and mental health consultation, advanced mental health education, and referral assistance to local and statewide mental health services. Pediatric serving (ages 0-21) primary care providers can register for OKCAPMAP services at https://www.okcapmap.org/provider-enrollment/.
Licensed mental health professionals and child and adolescent psychiatrists provide consultation and referral assistance through the consultation line 9AM-5PM Monday-Friday. Consultations may be requested online at https://www.okcapmap.org/consultation-request/ or by calling 918-710-3600. Voicemail and online requests are available 24/7; however, requests can only be addressed 9AM-5PM Monday-Friday.
Education can be accessed after registration through our welcome email with the OKCAPMAP Learning Library password. Here you will find asynchronous learning modules (with CME credit), upcoming (with CME credit) and archived lunch and learn opportunities, upcoming specialty trainings (with CME credit), access to the Infant Mental Health ECHO and the Pediatric Behavioral and Emotional Health ECHO, and more. The education resources can be found at https://www.okcapmap.org/provider-education/.
Referral assistance is provided through consultation services with the goal of providing a "best fit" referral to services and resources specific to your patient, including support with follow-up, continuity of care, and patient/family advocacy. This service can also be accessed by placing a consultation request online at https://www.okcapmap.org/consultation-request/ or by calling 918-710-3600 Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM.
We look forward to supporting your provision of mental health care for your pediatric patients!
