Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation is happy to announce the inaugural edition of our e-newsletter. This newsletter will provide residents with an up-to-date list of programs, events, camps, athletic leagues, and news about your Oklahoma City Parks system.

Drop in adult Pickleball every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Southern Oaks Recreation Center located at 6818 S Walker Ave. Pickleball offers aerobic exercise without being as strenuous as other racquet sports Beginners are welcome and can borrow a paddle or bring their own.

H.B. Parsons Fish Hatchery, located at 10940 N. Meridian Ave., is holding an open house on October 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Get a behind the scenes look at what goes into maintaining Oklahoma City’s fisheries. This is a free event, open to all ages.

The Willa D. Johnson Community Center at 909 Fredrick Douglas Ave. is hosting the next “Total Wellness” at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6. This is a free weight-loss and healthy living class for adults. Learn how to follow a healthy, balanced diet and be physically active as part of a healthy lifestyle. Free health screenings are available. Classes are also available online.

Martin Park Nature Center at 5000 W. Memorial Road is hosting “Native Seed Swap” at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, in the Visitor’s Center Library. Swap seeds with fellow gardeners and grow native grasses, bushes, and wildflowers that will thrive in our climate. This is a free program and registration ends 10/14/23.

OKC Parks announces next production: Broadway in the Park

Enjoy an evening out with OKC Parks’ Musical Revue, BROADWAY IN THE PARK: AFTER DARK
This is an ode to classic Broadway in its fullest form. Full of selections from shows like Chicago, Cabaret, Ain't Misbehavin', The Producers, and more, you’ll be fighting the urge to sing and dance along with our performers. This is a show by adults and for adults and is rated 18+.
The proceeds from this will go to benefit performing arts programming at the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center to provide arts education to kids of all ages and abilities.
