National Tornado Summit Donates $10,000 to American Red Cross
OKLAHOMA CITY – National Tornado Summit organizers presented a $10,000 check to the American Red Cross Saturday. The donation came during a Red Cross Readiness Rally in Moore, OK.
“We are thrilled to be able to make this donation,” said National Tornado Summit Committee Co-Chair Kim Decker. “The Red Cross shares our mission of preparing communities for disaster before it strikes, as well as helping them recover quickly when it does happen. We are particularly humbled to be able to make this donation in Moore, a community that embodies strength, resilience and recovery.”
The National Tornado Summit is an educational forum for insurance producers, insurance adjusters, emergency managers and meteorologists to improve disaster mitigation, recovery and response. The 4th annual convention is scheduled for Feb. 23-25 in Oklahoma City. Registration information is available online at www.tornadosummit.org.
“We are honored to receive this donation to benefit the continuing care of disaster victims in Oklahoma,” said American Red Cross Chief Executive Officer Janienne Bella. “Every day, trained Red Cross Disaster Responders stand ready around the clock to care for Oklahomans after disasters such as residential fires, storms and winter weather. Support for disaster preparedness by partners like the National Tornado Summit's Foundation ensures our responders remain equipped for the next call for help.”

National Tornado Summit Committee Co-Chairs Chad Yearwood and Kim Decker present a $10,000 check to American Red Cross CEO Janienne Bella and several Red Cross volunteers.
