Health Literacy Book Header

Does your library host a Story Trail? In partnership with IMLS, ODL invites library staff who manage Story Trails to take part in an exciting health literacy initiative. A limited number of participating libraries will receive multiple copies of two engaging titles to feature along their Story Trails.

This is a great opportunity to refresh your trail’s reading materials while supporting healthy habits and early literacy in your community. Participating libraries will display the provided books along their Story Trails and host at least one program during the display period. These programs should encourage activities and conversations around health topics, while also capturing photos and stories of community engagement to share with ODL. Books will be distributed later in May. The deadline to apply is May 2, so don’t miss out—register today to secure your spot!

Please note: This grant opportunity is contingent upon continued federal fiscal year 2024 funding through Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).

Starting April 1, ODL is offering technology grants of up to $10,000 for public libraries across Oklahoma! Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), these grants are designed to help libraries upgrade technology and create engaging spaces that inspire learning and exploration.

Grant funds can be used to purchase essential equipment such as desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, copiers, and scanners—ensuring your library can meet the evolving needs of your community. If your tech is already in good shape, this is also a great opportunity to launch innovative projects, from virtual reality setups to STEAM-focused learning areas.

To apply, your library must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), available for free at SAM.gov. Eligible applicants include Oklahoma public libraries and library systems. In line with IMLS priorities, preference will be given to rural libraries serving populations of 25,000 or less and located at least five miles from an urbanized area. Don’t miss this chance to take your library’s tech to the next level—apply by Friday, May 2!

Please note: This grant opportunity is contingent upon continued federal fiscal year 2024 funding through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
