This Tuesday Night—May 22 at 7:00 p.m.—your local OETA
station will broadcast the first episode of PBS’s
The Great American Read, an eight-part series that
explores and celebrates the power of reading, told through the prism of
America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey).
As
part of the project, Americans will vote on their favorites from among the 100
titles, with the best-loved book revealed in the fall.

And… watch for an announcement in a few
days about a related Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma program developed by
Oklahoma Humanities, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, and other partners. The program will
be available to Oklahoma public libraries and other groups eligible to participate in
Oklahoma Humanities’ Let’s Talk About It programs.
