This Saturday!! - Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show
Save the date for Saturday, June 14 when the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum celebrates Major Gordon W. “Pawnee Bill” Lillie, his wife May Lillie, and their famous Wild West Shows. Pawnee Bill’s Original Wild West Show is held at the original historic ranch site. Stagecoaches roll amid thundering horse hooves while the lightning of gunfire explodes around Pawnee Bill, May, and their cohorts as the talented performers thrill and amaze audiences. The theme for this year’s show will be “Pawnee Bill Honors Old Glory.”
Ticket Sales Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 62+, $5 for children ages 6–12, and free for children five and younger. Admission will be free for active military and veterans. Tickets are not sold in advance or online, and must be purchased at the ranch entrance gate on the day of the event. For more information, please call 918-762-2513 or email pawneebill@history.ok.gov.

On Thursday, June 19, at noon, Central Time, the State Historic Preservation Office will host a free Lunch and Learn seminar with Mike Kertok, a Norman-based architect, who will lead a session on what Sanborn maps are and how they can be used for research and building designs.

Juneteenth program: "Black Lawmen in Indian Territory"
The Oklahoma Historical Society will commemorate Juneteenth with a free educational program—"Black Lawmen in Indian Territory"—at the Oklahoma History Center on Thursday, June 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program starts at 6 p.m.
This annual event is sponsored by the Black Heritage Committee and the Oklahoma Historical Society. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be served during the event.

2025 Oklahoma History Symposium presentations viewable online
The 2025 Oklahoma History Symposium was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. This one-day event encompassed a range of historical topics pertaining to Oklahoma. The theme was “Oklahoma in Context.”
The public can now view this year's presentations by visiting okhistory.org/symposium and the Oklahoma Historical Society's YouTube channel.

Summer Solstice Walks
Start your summer with a trip to Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center for a special guided tour on Saturday, June 21, one day after the summer solstice. Three summer solstice walks will occur at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Each walk will include one mile of easy walking and last about two hours. Route 66 – The First 100 Years, with a foreword by Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Michael Wallis, is crafted from three decades of traveling, photographing, and writing about the route by Ross and Graham, whose other books include Route 66 Sightings and Secret Route 66.

On Saturday, June 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton will host a special book signing for the new centennial book Route 66 – The First 100 Years with Jim Ross and Shellee Graham.
Buckle up and take a generational journey with Route 66 ambassadors Jim Ross and Shellee Graham as they time-travel through the legendary highway’s life, demise, and renaissance. Explore the Mother Road from its birth in 1926 through its near centennial, experiencing the events, people, and places that created its legacy and ensured the route’s place in the hearts and minds of the nation.

Basic Barn Quilt Workshop
The Chisholm in Kingfisher will hold a Basic Barn Quilt Workshop on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is required. Classes are limited to 24 people. The cost is $60, and it includes lunch. The workshops are for adults or teens attending with an adult. Please contact the museum at (405) 375-5176 to reserve your place. Lunch is included with registration.

Saturday Guided Tours
Volunteer docents offer a guided tour of the Oklahoma History Center Museum every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The tour lasts about 90 minutes, and guests may join the tour when they arrive. To request a Saturday tour at a different time, please contact us in advance at 405-522-0765 or admissions@history.ok.gov. Guided tours are included with regular admission.

Attention Little Buckaroos!
The Will Rogers Memorial Museum will hold a two-day Little Buckaroo's Kids Camp for ages 5 to 6 on June 30 and July 1 from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The camp will be full of activities, games, and entertainment tailored for young children. The camp is $30 per child for nonmembers, and $25 per child for Will Rogers Memorial Museum members. Snacks will be provided. Campers should wear comfortable shoes and clothes each day of the camp.

On Saturday, June 28, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., the Cherokee Strip Museum and Rose Hill School will offer a hands-on pottery-making experience with Alysia Rodriguez, the resident instructor from Frankoma Pottery. This unique workshop will be held in the Blacksmith Shop on the museum grounds and open to members and the general public. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to ensure participation in this creative and educational event.
