2022 Oklahoma Historical Society Awards Banquet
The 2022 Oklahoma Historical Society Awards Banquet will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the Oklahoma History Center. Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt will be the guest speaker at the evening event, and Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith will serve as the emcee.
A cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m., and dinner and the awards program will follow at 6:30 p.m. Cocktail attire is requested. At this annual ceremony, the OHS will make presentations to OHS annual award recipients, SHPO annual award recipients, Guardians of History honorees, and will induct individuals into the Oklahoma Historians Hall of Fame.
Individual tickets to the reception and banquet are available for $100. Sponsor tables include the reception, a banquet table for eight, and the sponsor name listed on the printed program and OHS website. Donation levels are Silver $1,000; Gold $2,500; and Platinum $5,000. Tickets are now available and can be purchased through February 15. Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets today!
Proceeds from this event will be matched by the Kirkpatrick Family Fund and will go toward the Dr. Bob Blackburn Collections Endowment Fund. This endowment provides the OHS with funds to collect and preserve archival collections and artifacts that tell the story of Oklahoma. Take part in the Farm-to-Table Festival!
Oklahoma History Center - March 19, 2022
The Oklahoma History Center is inviting organizations to participate in the 2022 Farm-to-Table Festival. At this free family festival, attendees will explore historic and modern farm life, as well as how food gets to our tables. Families will experience perspectives from Colonial America to modern day with hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. This event will be held predominately outdoors and admission is free to the public.
If your organization would like to participate in this event, please click on the button below to apply and a member of the Oklahoma History Center Education Department staff will contact you. For groups wanting to sell Made in Oklahoma or other products at the festival, there will be a $50 booth fee.
The OHC's Farm-to-Table Festival is an education-focused event sponsored by Inasmuch Foundation.

Museum After Dark: Behind-the-Scenes at CSRHC
Visit the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center (CSRHC) in Enid for a special behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s collection, archives, and preparations for a new exhibit! This tour, scheduled for January 21 at 6 p.m., is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the region from the stories connected to a variety of artifacts from the CSRHC collection.
In 2022, behind-the-scenes tours will feature conversations with Jake Krumwiede, museum director; Dr. Neal Matherne, director of education; Aaron Preston, archivist; and Amy Johnson, curator of collections. The tours will also include a look at the preparation and planning of the 2022 CSRHC exhibit All Aboard: Examining the Orphan Trains.
Museum After Dark is a monthly series of programs that create opportunities for the public to experience the CSRHC after regular business hours. The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center will host a six-session Museum OKademy course in 2022 to train volunteers. The classes will be held on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., beginning on Saturday, January 15.
The course is designed to train volunteers, living history interpreters, and museum docents for the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center. Each of the six sessions will cover the history of northwestern Oklahoma and provide the attendees with a basic understanding of museums, heritage, and public history. Registration is required.

OHS COVID-19 safety measures
Per CDC guidance, we recommend that visitors who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 wear face masks and maintain social distancing in indoor public areas. All visitors, staff, volunteers, contractors, and vendors should use appropriate handwashing techniques.
We ask that you avoid visiting OHS museums, sites, and affiliates if you have COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms, have a fever, or are otherwise feeling sick or unwell.
