New AI Virtual Agent

SoonerGuide has arrived! The new AI virtual agent is live on both the OHCA website and SoonerCare helpline at 800-987-7767.

What is SoonerGuide? It is an AI agent that is available 24/7. SoonerGuide answers questions about SoonerCare programs, eligibility, Insure Oklahoma and SoonerSelect. It provides general information only and cannot review cases, determine eligibility or offer medical or legal advice.

How does it work? When you visit the website, you'll see a blue box in the bottom right-hand corner. Click on the icon to the right of the box to open SoonerGuide. From there, you can type in any question you may have. SoonerGuide can help you in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

When you call the helpline, SoonerGuide will answer the phone. Ask your question(s), and SoonerGuide provides answers in real-time.

How do I talk to a real person? You can always ask to speak with a representative.

Why do we need a virtual agent? We know your time is valuable. Because SoonerGuide provides instant answers to common questions, it frees up representatives to be more available when you need to speak with someone directly.

Can it help me if I forgot my password? SoonerGuide does not have access to personal account information. It also will not ask you for sensitive information.

Free Summer Meals for Kids

During summer when school is out, Summer Nutrition Programs offer free meals and snacks to children and teens ages 18 and under. Visit Meals4KidsOK.org and enter your address to find a location near you. At most locations, meals need to be eaten on site. However, some sites in rural areas offer grab-and-go meals. Click on each site for details on its meal service or for more information.

Need a Ride?

If you live in Oklahoma and are a SoonerCare member with a
valid SoonerCare ID number, you may qualify for SoonerRide. The program arranges to take you to medically necessary services covered by SoonerCare. It is a curb-to-curb service. You must call at least three business days before your appointment to arrange the ride. SoonerRide is not for emergency transport. Learn more about SoonerRide.

Nausea Patch Heat Risk

Are you using a nausea patch called Transderm Scōp® (scopolamine)? It helps stop motion sickness and nausea after surgery. The FDA has shared an important update to a previous warning about the patch. For some, the patch can make your body too hot. It can also make you sweat less. This can be dangerous.

Watch for signs like feeling very hot, not sweating, dizziness or confusion. These problems can start in the first few days. They can get worse in hot weather or with heat from things like heating pads.

If this happens, take the patch off right away. Call your health care provider. Do not use more than one patch at a time. Stay cool when you wear the patch.

Call the Pharmacy Help Desk at 405-522-6205, option 4, or 800-522-0114, option 4.

SoonerCare offers you a nutritional benefit that includes six hours of advice from a nutrition expert to help you succeed in your health goals. It must be prescribed by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse or nurse midwife. Learn more about this benefit.

OHCA + ABLE Tech Partnership

Oklahoma ABLE Tech operates its Device Reutilization Program through a partnership with OHCA. It was established in Oklahoma Statutes Title 56. Under this law, OHCA is required to develop and put in place a durable medical equipment program. This program:

  • Retrieves equipment that was purchased with SoonerCare funds. It is from members who no longer need the equipment.

  • Donates equipment to community-based programs such as ABLE Tech for repair and redistribution.

  • Ensures valuable medical equipment is reused rather than wasted. It benefits other Oklahomans who are disabled or elderly.

Through this partnership, Oklahoma ABLE Tech sanitizes, repairs and reassigns donated equipment. It is provided at no cost to recipients. Priority is given to SoonerCare members.

Have you received equipment from ABLE Tech that you're ready to donate back? You can contact ABLE Tech at atreuse@okstate.edu or 405-967-6010.

To learn more about the program and how to apply, visit ABLE Tech’s Device Reutilization Program page.
