Staying hydrated is a simple but effective way to support your daily health. Consistent water intake helps with energy, clearer thinking, headaches and even digestion. Your body doesn't have a storage tank for water, so it relies on you to replenish its supply throughout the day. Do your best to get plenty of sips in!

Update Your Information

Changes to SoonerCare eligibility are coming this year. Make sure your information is up to date. Members who are eligible for coverage but have not updated their information could lose their benefits. It is very important to make sure OHCA has the right address for you. That way we can reach you with important information about your SoonerCare benefits. You can update your account at MySoonerCare.org.

March is National Nutrition Month

Nutrition plays a key role in your daily life. Good nutrition helps you maintain a healthy weight. It reduces the risk of chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Finally, it promotes long-lasting health:

  • Fill half your plate with fruits and veggies. Aim for a colorful variety to get essential vitamins, minerals and fiber.
  • Add in lean proteins and plant-based options. Include sources like chicken, fish, eggs, beans, lentils, nuts or tofu.
  • Choose whole grains over refined grains. Swap white bread, rice or pasta for whole-grain versions like brown rice, quinoa, oats or whole-wheat products.
  • Prioritize balanced meals and mindful portions. A simple trick to avoid overeating is to use smaller plates.
  • Stay hydrated and limit added sugars or sodium. Drink plenty of water and cut back on sugary drinks. Check labels to choose lower-sodium options.

Signs of an Opioid Overdose and How You Can Help

Photograph of various pills on a table

Every year, too many Oklahomans die from taking too much of an opioid, either on purpose or by accident. You can help!

When someone takes too much of an opioid, their breathing can get very slow. Sometimes, they stop breathing. Naloxone is a medicine that can help them breathe again.

Many times, other people are nearby when an overdose happens. That means you could save a life! Get naloxone and learn how to spot an overdose. Look for these signs of an overdose:

  • Breathing is very slow or has stopped.
  • Lips or fingernails look blue or purple.
  • Arms and legs are limp.
  • The person will not wake up when you shake them or yell their name.
  • The middle of the eyes looks very small, sometimes called “pinpoint pupils.”

If you or your family could be around opioids, get naloxone. Tell your family and friends about it.

SoonerCare covers naloxone with a prescription. It does not count towards your monthly prescription limit and has a $0 copay. You can also get naloxone for free by mail from OK I'm Ready.

Questions? Call the Pharmacy Help Desk at 405-522-6205, option 4, or 800-522-0114, option 4.

Have You Received a Member Survey?

OHCA is sending surveys to some SoonerCare members. We are working to make your experience the best it can be. If you get a survey, please use the link or phone number provided to take the survey. The survey is available in English and Spanish. It only takes a few minutes to complete. Your help is appreciated.

Find a Provider

It's important that you see a provider who is contracted and in network with SoonerCare. Seeing a provider who is not contracted could cause you to have a bill that wouldn't be covered. You can use the Provider Directory to search for contracted providers. You can search by plan, provider name, facility, specialty, state, and city. Need help?
