January 2026
Reset your relationship with food this month! Practice mindful eating by slowing down during meals. Chew thoroughly. Savor flavors. And eat without distractions like cell phones. This helps you tune in to hunger and fullness cues. It will prevent overeating after holiday splurges. It also supports better digestion.

Changes to SoonerCare eligibility are coming in 2026. It is important to make sure your information is up to date. Members who are eligible for coverage but do not have their information up to date could lose their benefits. It is very important to make sure OHCA has the right address for you. That way we can reach you with important information about your SoonerCare benefits. You can update your account at MySoonerCare.org.
Big New Year's resolutions often fail fast. Instead, pick one or two small changes to make. Maybe it's to walk 10 minutes each day. Or add veggies to one meal. You can track progress in a notebook or app. You're more likely to have success if you set short-term goals. Don't aim for perfection, just progress. Stick to it, and you'll soon see results like more energy, better mood and improved health.

SoonerCare’s preferred drug used to treat hepatitis C is Mavyret. It is available without prior authorization. It does count toward your monthly script limit. Already taking a different hepatitis C drug? You can keep taking your current medication.
Mavyret treats most types of hepatitis C, usually in 8 to 16 weeks. Ask your health care provider about hepatitis C. They can help you decide if you need to be tested or treated. If you are treated with Mavyret or another chronic hepatitis C drug, it’s very important to take it every day. You must not skip doses, and must finish the full course of treatment.

Kathrina’s daughter recently reached out to Oklahoma ABLE Tech. Their Device Reutilization Program provides free medical equipment to Oklahomans in need.
The daughter wanted to get her mother an electric wheelchair. Kathrina has dwarfism and lives in a nursing home.
ABLE Tech helped get Kathrina that wheelchair. Before, Kathrina was dependent on others to help her move from place to place. With her wheelchair, she's now more independent.
Do you or a family member need similar help? Visit the Oklahoma ABLE Tech website to learn more or apply for equipment.
