All SoonerCare Members - Update Your Information

During the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services temporarily allowed Medicaid members who no longer qualified for Medicaid coverage to continue receiving benefits.

With the PHE predicted to end in the coming months, members who are no longer eligible for SoonerCare will lose their coverage. These members will receive a letter notifying them of the date their coverage will end. They will then receive another notification 45 days before their coverage ends and another one 10 days before.

It is very important for all SoonerCare members to make sure all your information is up-to-date as soon as possible. This will help us know if you are still eligible so we can notify you before you lose coverage. Members who are still eligible for coverage but do not have their information up-to-date could also lose their benefits. This is why we ask that all members confirm their information and documentation are up-to-date.

Some information that may need to be updated could include:

  • Household income
  • Contact information (address, phone number, etc.)
  • Number of people living in your household
  • Missing documents

If you receive a letter or email from the Oklahoma Health Care Authority saying we are missing information from you, please respond right away by updating your account or by calling the SoonerCare helpline.

Visit mysoonercare.org to log in and make sure your information is up-to-date. You may also call the SoonerCare helpline at 800-987-7767 to make sure all your information is current or ask any questions.

Choose Your Primary Care Provider

A primary care provider (PCP) is a health care doctor, physician's assistant or nurse practitioner who can help when you experience common medical issues, need a yearly checkup or need a referral to see a specialist. It is important for you to select your PCP so you know who to contact when you need them.

Below is a step-by-step guide of how to select your PCP through the member portal and how to make an appointment. You may also call the SoonerCare helpline at 800-987-7767 if you need help selecting your PCP.

Free At-Home COVID-19 Testing Kits and Vaccine Resources

SoonerCare members can get over-the-counter COVID-19 testing kits at no cost through any SoonerCare-contracted pharmacy. These at-home tests can provide results in 30 minutes or less and do not count against your monthly prescription limit.

If you have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. The vaccine is also approved for children ages 5 and above. See below for information about where you can get your vaccine for free.

  • Vaccinate.ok.gov: Oklahoma State Department of Health vaccine registration portal.
  • Walmart Pharmacy
  • You can also check with your local pharmacies and urgent care clinics. Many of them are also providing the vaccine.

Dental Care and Buprenorphine: What You Need to Know!

Some dental problems have been reported as a result from drugs dissolved in the mouth that contain buprenorphine. These problems include tooth decay, cavities, oral infections and loss of teeth. This drug is a key tool used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). Talk with your doctor before stopping this medication as it could lead to serious health problems. To help lower your chances of dental problems, follow these steps:

  • Tell your dentist you have started taking buprenorphine.
  • Let your dentist know if you experience any problems with your teeth or gums.
  • When taking buprenorphine, allow the drug to dissolve in your mouth, then take a large drink of water and swish gently around your teeth and gums, then swallow. Wait at least one hour, then brush your teeth.
  • Keep up a good dental routine.

For more information regarding coverage of dental services, visit the Oklahoma HealthCare Authority website or contact member services at 800-987-7767.

These surveys cover topics such as adult health, child health, behavioral health and dental services. If you are one of the members who receives a survey in the mail, there will be a link and phone number provided so you can choose to complete the survey online or by phone. There will also be a Spanish option available. Each survey only takes a few minutes to complete. Please help us by completing these surveys so we can work to better your member experience. Thank you.
