School is right around the corner and now is the time to get your kids ready to go back to school safely. Kids 12 and up are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. We encourage you to provide an extra layer of protection by getting your child the COVID-19 vaccine before returning to school.
Booking an appointment is easy at vaccinate.ok.gov or text your zip code to 438829 (GETVAX). It’s also a good time to ensure your child is up-to-date on all their other immunizations. Let’s all get back to school safely.
Medicare vs. Medicaid. Some members are listing Medicare in the insurance tab for online enrollment. But Medicare and Medicaid are different programs.
Medicare is a federal system of health insurance for people over 65 years of age and for certain younger people with disabilities.
Medicaid (SoonerCare) is a federal system of health insurance for those whose annual income is below a certain amount. You can find SoonerCare's income guidelines here.
If you have insurance from an employer or other source, please list in the online enrollment application. If a member does have Medicare, that can also be listed on the application.
If you or someone you know has previously not qualified for SoonerCare, you may qualify under our new expanion population. To find information such as the new income guidelines, visit https://oklahoma.gov/ohca/about/medicaid-expansion/expansion.html.

SoonerCare members can use almost any pharmacy in Oklahoma. To find a pharmacy near you, use the OHCA Provider Directory. Choose “SoonerCare” as the plan. Then, choose “Pharmacy” as the specialty. Next, choose your city or town. Then, you’ll see all the nearby pharmacies that take SoonerCare. We also have an alphabetized list of pharmacies.
The maximum number and cost of prescriptions you can get each month depends on your age.
Ages 21 and older:

- 2 brand name drugs each month
- Copay for each prescription is $4
Ages 0 to 20:
- Unlimited number of prescriptions

Do you want to make the most of your prescription drug benefit? Ask for a 90-day supply of your maintenance or daily drugs! Many drugs are on the 90-day Maintenance Drug List.
