Qualified Benefit Plan

If for any reason you were on a non-qualified benefit plan and the carrier switched you to a  Qualified Benefit Plan, please send us the “rebill”.  We will need an invoice showing the correct rate amounts in order to subsidize payments.

CHIP Funding

There will be possible changes coming to the children’s program in the Insure Oklahoma Employer Sponsored Insurance (ESI) plan. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) is able to subsidize a portion  of the insurance premium and provide wrap-around dental coverage for the children because of a program from the federal government. The name of that program is Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

CHIP ended on September 30 of this year, but  Congress can still renew it. If Congress does not vote to renew CHIP, dental coverage and the insurance subsidies that are paid for the children will end on February 28, 2018.

We are hopeful Congress will renew CHIP.  As of right now, there are no changes to the children’s eligibility. If their eligibility does change, you will be notified.

A letter was sent earlier this month to members with children currently receiving subsidies notifying them of the same information.

For the most up-to-date information about CHIP and any programs changes, please visit www.okhca.org/CHIP.
