  • HealthChoice Benefits app – Locate network providers, review Select procedures and locate Select facilities, access your health and pharmacy ID cards, track your deductible and out-of-pocket expense, and much more.

We look forward to continue serving you, and we are here to answer any questions you may have.

SwiftMD telemedicine visits

Effective Jan. 1, HealthChoice included SwiftMD telemedicine as a covered service. SwiftMD offers 24/7 medical consults from board-certified physicians via phone or teleconference for eligible members ages 3 and up. Services include common and minor illnesses or injuries such as allergies, rashes, fever, flu, pink eye, sinusitis and sore throat. SwiftMD is easy to use and helps prevent unnecessary emergency department/urgent care visits or long waits for doctor appointments. All SwiftMD physicians have a minimum of 10 years of practice experience.

During the first part of the year, SwiftMD telemedicine benefits included five visits covered at 100% for HealthChoice High/High Alternative and Basic/Basic Alternative members. After five visits, there was a $10 per visit service charge fee. For HDHP members, there was a $45 per visit service charge fee until the deductible has been met. After the deductible has been met, HDHP members received five visits covered at 100%, and then a $10 per visit service charge fee.

Effective March 6, 2020 HealthChoice extended many temporary benefits as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. HDHP members can access telemedicine services through SwiftMD at no cost through Dec. 31, 2020. HealthChoice members and covered dependents are eligible for free consults with SwiftMD doctors by phone and videoconference. Federal regulations usually require participants meet their annual deductible before a health plan can waive costs for any medical services other than preventive. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no HDHP $45 per visit service charge fees applied for SwiftMD services, regardless of whether or not the visit is related to COVID-19.

For HealthChoice High/High Alternative and Basic/Basic Alternative members, HealthChoice has removed all service fees and limits going forward to any service related to SwiftMD telemedicine, regardless of whether or not the visit is related to COVID-19.

Find additional information for HealthChoice members and providers on coverage expansions on the HealthChoice COVID-19 webpage.
