HealthChoice temporary expansion of services

HealthChoice takes member health and well-being very seriously. We are closely monitoring the developing effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and how it relates to you and your health plan benefits.

Effective immediately, HealthChoice will temporarily expand the following services to our members.

  • Testing and office visits for COVID-19 diagnosis
    HealthChoice is waiving member costs for COVID-19 laboratory testing and the related office visit charge for both network and non-network providers for all HealthChoice plans. Services received related to the treatment of COVID-19 are subject to any applicable copay, deductible or coinsurance. Charges for non-network services are subject to balance billing by the provider.
  • Telehealth visits 
    HealthChoice is temporarily expanding benefits to our members to include coverage for telehealth services, which will be considered the same as an in-person visit. Telehealth services include telehealth visits, virtual check-ins and e-visits. Telehealth visits are subject to regular plan benefits. Charges for non-network services are subject to balance billing by the provider.
TYPE OF SERVICE  WHAT IS THE SERVICE?
TELEHEALTH VISIT A visit between a patient and a primary care provider that uses telecommunication systems between the provider and patient.
VIRTUAL CHECK-IN A brief (5-10 minute) check-in between a patient and a primary care provider via telephone or other telecommunications device to decide whether an office visit or other service is needed. A remote evaluation of recorded video and/or images.
E-VISIT A communication between a patient and a primary care provider through an online patient portal.
  • Telemedicine
    SwiftMD board-certified physicians are available 24/7. SwiftMD treats minor conditions such as allergies and rashes, ankle pain, earache, sinusitis, etc. For HealthChoice High Deductible Health Plan members, there is a $45 charge per visit until the annual deductible is met.
    • Getting Started:
      1. Go to swiftmd.com member login and select Get Started.
      2. Choose Lookup Account with Group Passcode.
      3. Enter Group Passcode: HCOK20, HealthChoice Oklahoma, your name, birthday, email address and other info.
      4. SwiftMD will send you an activation email; be sure to log in to complete registration of your membership.

Once you have registered online, you can use SwiftMD anytime. Remember: Dependents over age 18 must register as well. To schedule a SwiftMD telemedicine consult, call 833-980-1442 or log in to swiftmd.com.

HealthChoice encourages any new prescriptions your established provider prescribes to be 90-day supplies or up to the plan maximum. In addition, CVS Caremark, the pharmacy benefit manager, is temporarily waiving early refill limits on 30-day prescriptions for maintenance medications at any network pharmacy (maintenance medications only). No other plan changes are in place.

We encourage our members and providers to utilize all available online and mobile resources, including healthchoiceconnect.com and the HealthChoice mobile app, as well as all additional benefit programs available.
