Optional Identity Verification
to Launch this Evening
Online identity verification is optional at this time, but will be required beginning November 12th.
To protect your unemployment claim against fraud, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) is implementing an identity verification security feature as part of the online claims and application process. You can begin to verify your identity online by logging into your account on UI.ok.gov and using the VerifyOK feature.
- You will need a valid photo ID and a photo of your face to complete the process.
- Once you begin, you will have 30 minutes before your session times out. If you do not complete the process within the 30-minute window your progress may be lost, and you will have to start over.
Please note that if you do not verify your identity by November 12th, your unemployment benefits will be paused until verification takes place.
Things to Keep in Mind:
- You must verify your identity using the new process even if you have faxed in a copy of your ID or provided a copy to a local office previously.
- If you can’t verify your identity online, then you will need to visit an Oklahoma Works office to complete your verification. Find an office near you.
- At this time, identity verification will not impact an existing claim, however it will be required in the near future to submit weekly claims.
- The online verification tool can only accept certain forms of ID, as noted below, but local offices can accept additional types of IDs which can be seen in the Frequently Asked Questions on OESC’s website.
