FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 10, 2019

The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) is accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) as a result of severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on 5-7-19 and continues. Under Presidential Disaster Declaration (FEMA-4438-DR) dated 6-1-19, workers in Muskogee, Tulsa, or Wagoner counties who lost their jobs and self-employed individuals who have been unable to work due to the disaster may be eligible for Disaster Unemployment Assistance benefits. Applications for DUA must be submitted by July 5, 2019. Applications submitted after that date will be considered untimely, unless the individual provides good cause for filing after the deadline. UPDATE: The disaster declaration was amended on 6-8-19 to include Canadian, Creek, Logan, Osage, Ottawa, Rogers and Washington counties. Applications for DUA for individuals in those counties must be submitted by July 10, 2019.
