Deer Gun Season Draws Near; We Got You Covered
Rut Report to Drop Next Week
With deer archery season underway and the popular gun season set to open Nov. 22, hunters are turning their attention to what's happening in the woods and fields. Next week's 2025 Rut Report from the Wildlife Department will provide up-to-date notes and information about the status of the rut from wildlife biologists stationed across the state. The Report will be posted online, and hunters who are subscribed to the Wildlife Department's Hunting Updates emails will receive the Report in their inbox.
Hunting Licenses Made Simple
Like last year, adult residents and nonresidents can hunt and harvest all deer allowed within the Oklahoma deer gun season bag limit with just a deer gun license ($36 for residents; $501 for nonresidents) and an annual hunting license.
Youth under 18 years old need only the new youth annual super hunting license to hunt the deer gun season. The same $26 annual license covers resident youth for all other hunting that requires a license in Oklahoma (federal permits and licensing rules still apply). Nonresident youth can purchase a youth annual super hunting license for $151 (a five-day option is also available for $76). Learn more about the youth annual super hunting license here.
Hunters in the Know ... Take a Doe!
One of the best things you can do as a deer hunter this year may just be harvesting a doe. Learn more about why antlerless harvest matters and the impacts and benefits that come to Oklahoma's deer herd (and to hunters!) as a result.
