Important Note for Lifetime Fishing License Holders
New License Structure Effective July 1; Add Lifetime Hunting While There's Time
Attention! New Fishing & Hunting License Bill in Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Wildlife License Modernization Act was signed into law March 26 by Gov. Kevin Stitt. The measure streamlines hunting and fishing licenses, condensing some 50 licenses to 14 options. Not only will the new structure be simplified for license buyers, but it will provide funding for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation by adjusting license costs to better reflect regional averages.
How the Act Impacts Lifetime Fishing License Holders
While the bill doesn't affect any lifetime fishing license privileges, beginning July 1 the Wildlife Department will no longer offer a stand-alone lifetime hunting license of any kind. Lifetime hunting license privileges will only be available in combo fishing & hunting licenses.
What to Do?
