Outdoor Adventures Like Never Before

In case you haven't heard, the Controlled Hunts program isn't the only way to win an elk hunt in Oklahoma! Even if you've been drawn for an Oklahoma elk hunt in the past, you can still put your name in the hat for the cow elk hunt up for grabs through the Wildlife Department's Outdoor Oklahoma Adventures raffles. This hunt is not a once-in-a-lifetime hunt, and being drawn has no impact on your preference points accumulated through the Controlled Hunts program. There's no reason not to claim your chance (or chances!) for just $10 each!

In fact, there's a whole slate of hunting, fishing and other outdoor opportunities being offered through the Outdoor Oklahoma Adventures. Proceeds from these opportunities go directly back into wildlife conservation and public hunting and fishing opportunities for everyone to enjoy. Raffle tickets are on sale now through Aug. 6 via the Wildlife Department’s license website at GoOutdoorsOklahoma.com.

Volunteers Needed, Youths Sought for 2021 Oklahoma Youth Hunting Program Activities

Our friends with the Oklahoma Youth Hunting Program (OYHP) pair experienced hunters with youth who have never been hunting and their parents for a weekend of deer hunting memories during Oklahoma’s youth deer gun season. The program relies on volunteer guides, cooks, drivers, and other experienced helpers to pull off this incredible event. The organization is hosting an Orientation and Training Day for interested volunteers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 10 in Mustang. For more info, email info@oklahomayouthhunting.org  or contact Darrell Noblitt at (405) 833-2112 or darrell@noblittoilandgas.com. Additionally, the program actively seeks youth ages 12-17 who have a desire to enjoy the outdoors through the sport of hunting, but do not have anyone in their immediate circle of responsible adults that have the background and/or knowledge to teach that individual about the sport. For more on the OYHP, go to oyhp.org.
