This year, 44 artists, painters, sculptors and carvers are expected to attend, offering hundreds of pieces of art. The show’s featured artist is Linda Besse, a painter from Mead, Wash. See more about Besse at her website, http://www.BesseArt.com.
One of the more engaging aspects of the show is the opportunity to visit with the artists about their work. This helps bring the art to life, and visitors always find it extremely interesting to learn how an artist created a specific piece.
The NatureWorks Art Show began in 1991. In that time, the show has offered for sale thousands of beautiful sculptures, paintings and carvings from across the country and around the world. Today, numerous businesses, homes and even museums in Tulsa and surrounding communities are adorned with art purchased at the NatureWorks Art Show.
NatureWorks is a nonprofit corporation run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors with no paid staff. All of the net proceeds from the art show are contributed to wildlife conservation causes, so a portion of every purchase is tax deductible. The organization is a primary benefactor of many local, regional and national wildlife conservation and educational projects.
Recently, NatureWorks donated a total of $23,737 to fund seven projects for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. The funds are earmarked for equipment and habitat work on several wildlife management areas in eastern Oklahoma.
One ticket for $5 is valid for admission to the show both days. For more information, go to http://www.natureworks.org/art-show.
