2019 OKNASP State Shoot- Tips For Success

Instructors,

Here are some tips to help you prepare for the upcoming OKNASP State Shoot events:

  • Plan to arrive 1 hour before your assigned shoot time to allow for check in.
  • Bring your bows, we will provide arrows.  If you bring arrows, have color options so that your archer's arrows will differ from their lane mate.
  • Archers will keep score.  You may need to teach them how to use the scorecard.
  • Bows must not have brass nock locators.  Also, we strongly recommend that you replace the stock white nock locator with a tied nock locator.  The stock nock locators are prone to slip.
  • Make sure your bows have no sight marks on the face of the riser.  This includes the camo pattern of the camo bows.  They must be covered/painted to create an even tone.  Bows found with marks will have the bow face covered with tape by the event staff.
  • The archers must not "sky draw" (aim upward) when drawing the bow, or "tabletop" (laying the bow flat) when loading an arrow.  These are safety hazards.
  • Do not bring outside chairs inside the OKC event building.  The Fire Marshall has declared them a safety hazard and requires that we use bleachers.

Please email, text, or call with questions.

Thanks!  See you next week!

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) does not receive general state tax appropriations. License sales and federal Wildlife and Sportfish Restoration Program grant revenues are the main funding sources. Every license dollar spent by sportsmen in Oklahoma is used to fund ODWC's user pay/public benefit conservation efforts.
