ADA turns 35 Saturday

Landmark legislation of 1990 still reshaping America

The 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act will be celebrated on Saturday. This landmark civil rights law, signed into law on July 26, 1990, prohibits discrimination based on disability in employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and government activities. 

The ADA Anniversary website states it is a moment to celebrate the progress made and recommit to the ongoing work of inclusion and accessibility.

45 years of service to Oklahoma

In June, SBVI Secretary Kim Lohr reached her 45 years of service anniversary. Here, she received her longevity certificate for her service to the taxpayers of Oklahoma. New jobs and hires as of June 30

VR – Rehabilitation Technician Kelby Gonzalez began the new job on June 2.

VR – Rehabilitation Technician Angela Rollo began the new job on June 1.

VR – Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Savanna Bullard began the new job on June 16.

VR – Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Rachel Rozanski began the new job on June 2.

VR – Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Jason Rogers began the new job on June 2.

SBVI – Rehabilitation Technician London Peterson began the new job on June 16.

SBVI – Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Calvin Brown began the new job on June 16.
