March Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, March 7
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media may attend but are strongly encouraged to watch the livestream video online.
Items to be addressed at the meeting:
Secretary of Transportation and Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will brief commissioners on federal funding topics, including the status of transportation funding authorization and the new National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program.
Gatz will also update the commission on the agency’s response to multiple winter storms affecting most of the state in February.
The commission will consider approving Historic Route 66 in Oklahoma to be added to the U.S. Bicycle Route System. The route includes segments of state highways, city streets and county roads and would connect with already-designated segments in neighboring states.
Commissioners will be asked to vote on whether to award contracts for bridge rehabilitation on US-75 at 41st St. in Tulsa and on US-412 at the Verdigris River near Catoosa, along with highway reconstruction on US-183 near Cordell and US-70 near Ardmore.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
The next Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 4.
