Eastbound and westbound N. 50th St. is now open over I-235 between N. Santa Fe Ave. and N. Harvey Parkway after a year-long closure. The four-lane bridge also features a new sidewalk for pedestrian access across its 495-foot length.
There is currently no access at I-235 and N. 50th St., but ramps are expected to open in late summer 2018.
N. 50th St. was closed in May 2017 as part of the $88 million I-235 widening and reconstruction project between N. 36th St. and I-44. This is one of several phases to fully reconstruct the I-44 and I-235 interchange.
Work continues on I-235 through early 2019 and motorists are reminded to stay Off Broadway and use alternate routes such as I-35, SH-74/Lake Hefner Parkway, I-44 and I-40.
