August Transportation Commission Meeting
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold its meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City. Items to be addressed at the meeting include:
Secretary of Transportation and Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Mike Patterson will update the commission on the agency’s new ShakeCast system, an automated program that uses state bridge and seismic data to help ODOT crews respond following earthquakes and perform bridge inspections quicker and more efficiently.
Commissioners are expected to vote on whether to award a $7.5 million contract that includes financial incentives for early completion to replace the US-412/US-64 bridge over SH-151 near the Keystone Dam in Tulsa County.
They will also be asked to consider approval of several contracts for bridge rehabilitation projects, including SH-117 in Sapulpa and US-69 in Checotah.
The full agenda can be viewed at www.odot.org/meetings. The meeting is open to the public or can be viewed live online at www.ustream.tv/channel/odot-monthly-commission-meeting. The commission, an eight-member panel appointed by the governor to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
