Transportation Commission Meeting
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold its meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City. Items to be addressed at the meeting include:
Oklahoma
Department of Transportation Executive Director Mike Patterson will update the
commission on major projects impacting I-235 and US-75 traffic in the Oklahoma
City and Tulsa areas and the department’s ongoing preparation for US-69/75
reconstruction in Bryan County, which is being accelerated thanks to a federal
FASTLANE grant.
As part of the consent docket, commissioners
will be asked to consider approval of sign placement on several bridges in
southeastern Oklahoma honoring Choctaw Code Talkers in accordance with legislation
approved this year.
Commissioners are expected to vote on
whether to award contracts for traffic signal installation on US-62 in Lawton;
bridge replacement on SH-11 near Sperry; highway and bridge reconstruction on
US-64 near Pawnee and a county road reconstruction project on N.E. 164th
St. near Luther.
They will also be asked to consider
approval of engineering contracts for the design of SH-20 realignment in
Claremore and a study to help determine future improvements to the SH-152
(Airport Rd.) and I-44 corridors in southwest Oklahoma City.

eight-member panel appointed by the governor to oversee the state’s
transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge
construction on a monthly basis.
