SH-9
speed limit changes in east Norman in Cleveland County
The speed limit
on SH-9 is being reduced from 65 mph down to 55 mph between 156th Ave. and
192nd Ave. in east Norman, near the Little Axe area. Beginning
Monday, Oct. 24, Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews will be installing
the new speed limit signs with attached lights and flags to alert drivers to the
change.
Engineers with
ODOT believe this change will help improve traffic
safety in the area. Reduction of the speed limit was approved by the Oklahoma
Transportation Commission on Oct. 3. There are ongoing and planned projects in ODOT's Eight-year Construction Work Plan to reconstruct
and widen SH-9 to four lanes between Norman and Tecumseh.
