As we move into the winter-weather season, it is important for Oklahoma Department of Corrections staff to remember the agency’s process for dealing with hazardous weather conditions which may impact travel conditions and state services.
The Commissioner of Public Safety, as authorized by the Governor, will announce if state agencies may temporarily reduce non-essential service. The date and time will be specified in the announcement. When state services are temporary reduced in the employing county, state employees can be authorized to utilize administrative leave, if eligible. The decision tree provides guide on eligibility. All active telework participants will be ineligible for the administrative leave granted to employees during inclement weather or for emergencies at the primary work location.
