Celebrate National Farm to School Month by participating in the first annual Great Oklahoma Lunch Crunch! This exciting event is a fantastic opportunity for schools across the state to highlight the best of Oklahoma’s local produce and meats while teaching our students about where their food comes from.
What’s the Great Oklahoma Lunch Crunch and Who Can Participate?
It’s a statewide celebration where school cafeterias showcase local Oklahoma foods on their lunch trays. Students will enjoy a delicious meal featuring homegrown produce or meats and then come together to ‘crunch’ into these nutritious goodies as a unified school community. It’s all about making healthy eating fun and educational!
You don’t have to be a school to participate in the Lunch Crunch. We encourage anyone who wants to show support for local farmers and food to join in on the celebration. K-12 schools, early care and education sites, hospitals, colleges and universities, producers, state and local agencies, non-profit organizations, local businesses, groups, and even households can register to Crunch!
