Vendor Spotlight
Addie Joe In Stitches
" I started sewing a little over a year ago. I wanted to make some burp rags for my new nephew. So I watched some YouTube videos and taught myself how to sew and haven't stopped sewing since.
When we first started using face masks, they were difficult to find and friends/family started asking if I could make them. I have officially lost count on how many I have made but a I am pretty sure it is over 800.
I started off at the Owasso Farm and Artisan Market last August selling baby blankets, burb clothes, scrunchies, drawstring bags, and LOTS of facemasks. However, during the last snow storm, I was snowed in for almost two weeks and was able to use that time to teach myself how to make some really cool bags/purses and belly pouches.
I absolutely love to sew. I love all the different prints and textures of fabric. I love all the new creations I am learning to make. I love everything about sewing. Even all the ironing (which I have always despised before). I've had my own house cleaning business for almost 18 years now but I am slowly stopping to make sewing my new full-time business. Even though I do love to clean, my new sewing business makes me so happy. It is nice to have a job that doesn't feel like work. I am so glad that my friend Susie from Susie's Quilting, talked me into applying for the Rose District Farmers Market. This market has made it possible for me to do what I love, sew every day."
