City seeks input on trolley service
The City of Broken Arrow Tourism and Economic Development office is surveying community stakeholders for their interest in a potential trolley service in Broken Arrow. The goal of the trolley is to provide transportation services to and from our hotels, shopping districts, and entertainment venues.
We are in the initial phase of gathering information to provide a service for our visitors and residents to help promote events, dining, and retail.

 New Orleans Square received its new logo during the Block Party celebration on July 1. The logo was created with the help of Brandera Marketing. The Block Party featured vendors, a car show, a steak cook-off, a kids zone, and the evening ended with an exciting fireworks display.
Full Taste of Summer event returns July 24
Taste of Summer returns Saturday, July 24. The festival takes place at Central Park, 1500 S. Main St., and will feature summertime fun for the entire family, including:

August marks LifeRide enrollment option period
The annual enrollment period for LifeRide and the Fire/Rescue Subscription Program is Aug 1-31. How does it work?
For $5.45 per month or $65.40 annually ($7.50 per month or $90 annually outside City limits) LifeRide customers transported by a Broken Arrow Fire Department ambulance save significant amounts on ambulance bills. Monthly charges are paid as a line item on your utility bill.
After a transport, the City files with your medical insurance and any remaining balance is taken care of by your LifeRide subscription. Patients without medical insurance receive a 40 percent discount on their ambulance bill.
LifeRide does NOT cover bills for transports by other ambulance services. Visit LifeRideBA.org for more information.
BAFD also offers a Fire/Rescue Subscription Program for residents outside City limits but in the Fire Department’s response area. These calls for service are normally charged $700 per hour per truck for fire/rescue services. However, with the $90 annual subscription ($150 if combined with LifeRide), these charges are not billed after filing with insurance.

Don't leave kids or pets in parked vehicles
With summer temperatures here, the Broken Arrow Police Department wants to remind everyone to never leave pets or children unattended in a parked vehicle.
BAPD Public Information Officer Chris Walker released a short video reminding people of the dangers.

Creek 51 certified by OK Department of Commerce
Creek 51 Business Park in Broken Arrow has received its Site Ready Certification from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
Creek 51 Business Park is a 90-acre business park located on the West side of Broken Arrow in Wagoner County and is adjacent to Highway 51.
The Site Ready Program guarantees prospective buyers that sites are ready for sale or lease and are considered "shovel ready". To qualify for the certification, sites must meet specific requirements for the available workforce, access to utilities, and the site is properly zoned. The certification tells companies and consultants that development can occur with an expedited timeline. There are eight site categories for certification, each with unique requirements. Creek 51 Business Park has been certified as meeting all requirements for Light-Industrial uses.
City of Broken Arrow and Wagoner County officials broke ground on the development in October 2019, after working with developer Rex Robertson, president of Dallas-based Ford Development, to implement a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District to help reimburse the cost of developing the land. Utilization of the TIF as a financing tool made the project possible. Taxing entities including Wagoner County, Broken Arrow Public Schools, Tulsa Tech and the Wagoner County Health Department consenting to the district which made infrastructure improvements possible for the development.
Public meeting July 13 to discuss north BA road improvements
The City of Broken Arrow, in conjunction with Tulsa County, will hold a public meeting from 6-8 p.m., July 13, at Broken Arrow High School, 1901 E. Albany St., to discuss current and upcoming City transportation projects north of the Broken Arrow Expressway, and some Tulsa County projects in the same vicinity that are scheduled over the next six years.
To handle the growth this part of our community is currently experiencing, as well as to support economic development opportunities, some improvements the City will make include
- Albany (61st) Street, from 23rd (County Line Road/193rd East Avenue) to 37th (209th East Avenue)
- 23rd Street, from Houston (81st) to Kenosha (71st), and
- 37th Street, from Kenosha Street to Albany Street.
Some of the roads that needed widening in and near Broken Arrow are maintained by Tulsa County, who has been planning for several improvements, including implementing some roundabouts along County Line Road.
City and County representatives will give a short presentation regarding their respective projects, and officials will be available to discuss the projects and answer questions following the presentations.
