Clarifications, Future Projects, and Delegate Audits
Message from the Editor:
Hello all. For this edition of the PMP newsletter, we are providing clarifications for previously stated information, a peek into upcoming training projects, and a reminder for future delegate audits.

There are a couple of clarifications that need to be made after the publication of last month's newsletter.
Schedule II Medication Storage
To clarify from last edition's examination of the recent pharmaceutical burglary case, schedule II medications are not required to be stored separately from other scheduled medications. It is however strongly encouraged and recommended that they are stored in separate, secure safes, especially if previous diversion has occurred.
OBNDD Prescription Pads and Compounded Prescriptions
Additionally, to clarify the PMP Pro Tip from last month. OBNDD prescription pads do not have to be utilized for written compounded prescriptions. They can be utilized if desired by the prescriber, but they are not required.
Do note: If a prescriber is not writing a compounded prescription and they are not e-scribing, they do need to utilize OBNDD script pads. OBNDD script pads can only be utilized for an e-scribe exception (view 63-2-309(A)(5) for the list of e-scribe exceptions). If the prescriber is prescribing from multiple locations, they need to have a prescription pad for each location with the corresponding address imprinted on the top of the pad.

On-Demand OBNDD Trainings
As a consumer of this newsletter, you've likely seen us release short walkthrough videos that demonstrate a specific function within the PMP. In addition to these quick and easy walkthroughs, we are now producing in-depth trainings about the PMP and all relevant things OBNDD, which will be uploaded to an on-demand database that practitioners can access at any time. Some potential training topics include complete walkthroughs of the PMP for specific professions, how to navigate PMP errors and warnings, discussions of applicable legislation, and even human trafficking awareness. This project is in progress. Once the system is ready, the announcement will be made in this newsletter. The platform will require practitioners to sign-up using an email and either their OBNDD license number, or their license number for their respective board, if they do not have their own OBNDD registration number. This platform will require approval to access, so applicants will have to wait for license verification and approval.

OBNDD Guides
OBNDD has created two new guides! They are currently in review. While these guides cannot be comprehensive of all statute, they will provide practitioners with a quick and easily accessible resource to assist with frequent OBNDD-related questions and explain how to access different functions within the PMP. They also have all of the relevant previously released short trainings and pamphlets linked to aid convenience. These guides will be released in this newsletter and distributed to the applicable boards and medical associations to improve access.

Delegate Audits Delegate Audits occur twice a year - once before January 1st and again before June 30th. OBNDD sends out three emails starting 45 days prior to these dates at 15-day intervals. Keep an eye out for audit reminders. Make sure to reapprove your delegates prior to the expiration. Delegates will not be able to search patient history queries until all delegates under the supervisor have been reviewed. Delegate audits help ensure that delegates who are no longer employed with the supervisor can no longer run a patient query on behalf of the supervisor. If a delegate does leave, please be sure to notify OBNDD and do not simply wait for their delegate status to expire.
