New OBN Registration Timeline

Hello all. This edition of the Registration Newsletter will discuss the new OBN Registration timeline. Below we'll discuss what you need to know regarding these changes, so please read carefully.
OBN Registration New Timeline
According to 63 OS 2-303(F), OBN Registration renewals shall open July 1st annually. In previous years, OBN renewals have opened the first of August. OBN Registrants can now renew in July.
Applications that are submitted in July and August are considered timely. Make sure to submit your application before September 1st so that it is a timely renewal. Timely renewals help ensure that your renewal is processed before the expiration date and that your OBN Registration remains active.
If you renew in September or October, it is considered untimely renewal. Untimely renewals risk becoming inactive after the expiration deadline if they are not processed prior to the deadline. Renewals that are not processed prior to the deadline will become inactive and cannot utilize any controlled dangerous substances for their work. Renewals submitted after the expiration date of October 31st will incur daily fines and be inactive until they are processed.
All unprocessed renewals and unsubmitted renewals will become expired after the expiration date on October 31st.
So, be sure to renew during the timely renewal period in July and August. This is the best way to ensure that your OBN Registration will be active for the next year. Keep in mind that it is important to still renew within the untimely renewal period (September and October) if you have not done so during the timely renewal period (July and August). While untimely renewal does not guarantee processing prior to the expiration date, submitting a renewal after the expiration date does guarantee that it will not be processed before expiration and the late renewal submission will incur daily fines.
If an OBN Registration is not renewed prior to December 31st, the Registration becomes permanently inactive and will not be eligible for renewal. After January 1st, a new application will be required.
