Hello all. This edition of the PMP Newsletter will cover PMP integration. What integration is, its benefits, how to integrate the PMP, and a discussion about false positive searches will all be covered in this month's newsletter.

What is PMP Integration?
PMP Integration allows providers immediate access to the Oklahoma Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) through their Electronic Health Records (EHR). When a provider views a patient's chart, they have the ability to review the patient's prescription history within the chart.
What are the Benefits for Integration?
PMP Integration allows for a provider to check the patient's history as required within the same window as the patient's chart. It does not require logging into a new window and navigating to the patient history report query. This can save time during the workday and allow for greater efficiency.
How Can I Integrate the PMP into My EHR?
Our website provides additional information about the integration process.

The process includes reviewing a welcome packet, creating an account, and discussions with Bamboo Health and your EHR system vendor. Click here to view the step-by-step process for PMP integration.
False Positives
The PMP has a great ability, through our integration efforts, to also search a patient's history in other states that allow information sharing with Oklahoma. This can be necessary if a patient frequently travels, has been out of state, or if a provider is located near a state border.
If you choose to pull a patient report in multiple states, please be aware that there are potentially patients in other states with the same name, same birthday, and similar information. Make sure to double check all of the patient's information on the patient history report to ensure that it is the correct patient prior to making your treatment decisions.

Integrated EHR PMP vs AWARxE PMP Site Having the PMP integrated into your EHR is great, because it allows the provider to pull a history report simply by pushing a button within the patient's chart. Remember that while this is a great convenience, the non-integrated PMP (AWARxE site) has more capabilities and functions. The PMP site allows prescribers to run a MyRx report, to view their requests history (which includes all patient history reports run by delegates), and to perform delegate maintenance. |
