Attorney General agents provide support
to Beggs Police Department
OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 14, 2026)– Agents from Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s office will provide law enforcement support to the Beggs Police Department following a request from Rep. Scott Fetgatter, R-Okmulgee.
Fetgatter said he is concerned about crime in the community and several key resignations from the police department including the interim police chief, assistant chief and an officer.
Drummond said agents will be in Beggs tonight and will stay until the city can adequately staff the police department.
“My office takes seriously our responsibility to ensure Oklahomans remain protected,” Drummond said. “You can expect professionalism, compassion and fairness from my agents. My office will maintain a strong presence in Beggs for as long as we are needed.”
