Rapback Enrollment Re-Affirmation for Bus/Van Drivers and Non-Licensed Personnel
Attention schools and districts with bus/van drivers and non-licensed personnel enrolled in the Rapback system through the State Board of Education. In order to ensure that only active personnel are enrolled in the system, schools and districts will be required to reaffirm their enrollees each school year.
Timeline and process for re-affirmation:
August 31, 2025: All currently enrolled bus/van drivers and non-licensed personnel from last school year who are associated to your school/district will be marked as “Pending” in the system overnight on August 31 into September 1. Personnel who do not have a current background check will be marked as “On Hold” and will need to complete a new background check before they can be enrolled in Rapback and approved by the school/district. (Note: new enrollees who have been enrolled, associated, and confirmed since July 1, 2025 will not be inactivated.)
September 1 – October 31, 2025: During this time period, the Rapback Authorized Representative for your school/district will need to re-confirm any “Pending” drivers/non-licensed personnel who will be working during the 2025-2026 school year. Personnel who have been enrolled and confirmed will then show with an “Approved” status.
November 1, 2025: Any drivers and non-licensed personnel who have not been re-confirmed by their school/district and are still “Pending” will be unenrolled from the Rapback system. Once unenrolled, these individuals will have to complete additional steps, including a new BCI background check to become re-enrolled.
After November 1, schools and districts should ensure that any newly hired non-licensed personnel, contractors, and drivers are properly registered in the system and enrolled in Rapback within 30 days of hiring.
Status Designations in CORE System for Drivers and Non-Licensed Personnel:
- On Hold – indicates that the State Board is still awaiting a current background check for the individual so they can be enrolled in Rapback
- Pending – indicates that the State Board has a current background check and is awaiting approval confirmation from the school/district
- Approved – indicates that the school/district has approved the individual’s association and the individual is enrolled
