PC Meetup Scheduled for November 21
Please join us for the next Program Coordinator (PC) Meetup scheduled for 1-2 p.m. on November 21. The State Board of Education's Resident Educator Program staff will host a panel of Program Coordinators who will share their experiences with mentoring practices.
Monthly PC Meetups are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month through May, except for February when we will hold our semi-annual PC Network. This month’s PC Meetup is on a Thursday due to scheduling conflicts. More information regarding the PC Network will be coming soon. If you have not already registered for the monthly meetups, Register Here.
Registration Deadline for Resident Educator Program 2024-2025
The deadline to register Resident Educators in the Resident Educator Program for the 2024-2025 school year is November 15. If a Resident Educator meets the eligibility criteria after that date, the Program Coordinator can submit a late registration to: REProgram@sboe.ohio.gov. Please direct any questions regarding registration to REProgram@sboe.ohio.gov.
New Mentor Training Events Now Available Until December 1
All new mentors must successfully complete the Mentor Academy training to become certified state mentors. Training events, scheduled by local Educational Service Centers (ESCs), are listed in STARS. Registration fees are required and vary by location. Training is provided both in-person and virtually. Read the registration details in STARS for locations and dates and be sure to follow the directions for the virtual training registration. Virtual training includes two required components: synchronous and asynchronous. Dates for virtual synchronous sessions are listed in the registration information. Contact the ESC directly if you have questions. All mentor training must be completed by December 1.
2024-2025 RESA Scores
RESA scores will be uploaded monthly to CORE beginning November 8. Please note that Resident Educators will receive their scores 30 days after their submission to TeachForward. Program Coordinators can run a RESA results report from their CORE Dashboard.
OhioRESA.com Registration
Please note that if your Resident Educator receives a message indicating they are not registered for the RESA when they log in to OhioRESA.com, they should first check with their Program Coordinator to make sure they are correctly registered in CORE. If they are correctly registered in CORE, then they should email REProgram@sboe.ohio.gov to verify TeachForward has received the Resident Educator’s RESA registration information. Each week the State Board’s Resident Educator Program staff sends a list of Resident Educators registered for the RESA (the eligibility file) to TeachForward, the vendor for the RESA. See below for dates the eligibility file will be sent to TeachForward.
- Thursday, November 7
- Thursday, November 14
- Thursday, November 21
- Thursday, December 12
- Thursday, January 16
- Thursday, February 13

If the Resident Educator was registered after the eligibility list was submitted, then TeachForward will not have that information until the following week. Please note it takes few days for TeachForward to process the new data. If the Resident Educator was registered after an eligibility file was sent and before a new one is sent, then the Resident Educator must wait a few days after the new file is sent to log in to OhioRESA.com. If it has been some time since they were registered in CORE, then this is an issue with TeachForward, and the Resident Educator should email TeachForward at support@teachforward.com.
