PUCO approves electricity economic development plan for Wrap-Tite

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Sept. 3, 2025) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today approved an arrangement between BDG Wrap-Tite, Inc. and Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (CEI), allowing Wrap-Tite to take electric transmission service from a competitive electric supplier. Wrap-Tite commits to making $8 million in capital expenditures and adding 40 new full-time jobs over the next four years.

Wrap-Tite will participate in CEI’s transmission pricing program known as the non-market-based pilot program, allowing it to better manage its consumption during times of peak demand on the electric grid.

“When large manufacturing operations are able to reduce their demand during peak times, everyone benefits,” stated PUCO Chair Jenifer French. “Wrap-Tite will continue to invest not only in its Ohio facilities but also in its employees through vocational training commitments.”

Wrap-Tite is a manufacturer and supplier of packaging, shipping, and safety products, headquartered in Solon, Ohio. In addition to the capital expenditures and new jobs, Wrap-Tite intends to reinvest utility bill savings in vocational training opportunities for its employees.

A copy of today’s opinion and order is available on the PUCO website at PUCO.ohio.gov by clicking on the link to “Docketing Information System” and searching for case 25-746-EL-UNC.
