OPSB schedules local hearing for proposed solar facility in Fairfield County
COLUMBUS, OHIO (Nov. 7, 2024) – The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) will hold a local public hearing regarding Eastern Cottontail Solar, LLC’s proposal to construct a 220 megawatt solar-powered electric generation facility in Fairfield County.
The hearing is scheduled for:
Jan. 27, 2025, at 5 p.m. Pleasantville Elementary School 300 West Columbus Street Pleasantville, Ohio 43148
Eastern Cottontail proposes to construct the facility within a 1,550-acre project area in Walnut Township. The facility would consist of photovoltaic panel arrays, electrical collection lines, inverters, transformers, access roads, a substation and generation interconnection line, an operation and maintenance building, and temporary construction laydown yards.
The purpose of the local public hearing is to allow individuals to provide sworn testimony regarding the proposed transmission line. The hearing transcript will become part of the case record considered by the OPSB. Witnesses will register when they arrive at the hearing and will testify in the order in which they register. Testimony will be limited to three minutes per witness. If a witness wishes to supplement their testimony with an exhibit, a copy of the document should be provided to the administrative law judge during the hearing.
The evidentiary hearing is scheduled for March 4, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Hearing Room 11-A, 11th Floor, 180 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. During the evidentiary hearing, the applicant, OPSB staff, and intervening parties will offer expert testimony and evidence regarding the proposed transmission line.
