PUCO schedules public hearings about Enbridge Gas Ohio's applications
The PUCO scheduled public hearings regarding Enbridge Gas Ohio’s (formerly Dominion Energy Ohio) applications to increase rates and charges and for approval of an alternative rate plan.

Utility Valuation Expert filing guidance and expert list added to website
The PUCO has established a process for the designation of utility valuation experts, in accordance with amended Substitute House Bill 422. This will aid in the appraisal of municipal waterworks and sewage companies by certain larger nonmunicipal water companies.

Summer crisis program continues through September 30
There's still time to apply for the Summer Crisis Program! The Program, which runs through Sept. 30, can assist eligible households with a one-time payment to keep up with their electric bill, make air conditioner repairs or purchase cooling units.

OPSB approves Scioto Ridge Solar project in Hardin County
On August 22, the Ohio Power Siting Board authorized Scioto Ridge Solar, LLC to construct, operate, and maintain a 110 megawatt solar-powered electric generation facility and a 20 megawatt battery energy storage facility in multiple townships in Hardin County.

PUCO approves upgrades to 42 rail crossings in 6 counties
On July 21, the PUCO approved safety upgrades at rail crossings in Athens, Fairfield, Franklin, Gallia, Meigs and Perry counties. Those crossings will be improved with flashing lights, gates, circuitry upgrades or other safety enhancements.

PUCO to hold two hearings regarding Duke Ohio's electricity security plan in September
On April 1, 2024, Duke Energy Ohio filed an application for a 3-year electric security plan for the supply of standard service offer electric generation. If approved, the plan will begin June 1, 2025.
