The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program (SCP) provides a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans to assist with electric bills, central air conditioning repairs, and air conditioning unit and/or fan purchases.
The program will run from July 1 through September 30.
The assistance can be a one-time electric bill payment of up to $500 for customers of PUCO-regulated utilities or $800 for unregulated utilities.
These reports contain information on total number of service disconnections, total amount of unpaid bills and total number of reconnections. The reports are due by June 30.
OPSB approves solar energy project in Clinton County
The Ohio Power Siting Board authorized Yellow Wood Solar Energy LLC to construct a 300 megawatt (MW) solar-powered electric generating facility in Clark and Jefferson townships, Clinton County. The OPSB adopted 34 conditions that the developer must adhere to in order to minimize and mitigate potential impacts during construction and operation of the facility.
This month, PUCO hazardous materials specialists Joe Frilling, Aaron Lockhart and Drew Powley led an all-day training for the Ohio Trucking Association (OTA). The OTA provides training opportunities to safety directors, fleet trainers, technicians and company leaders covering every aspect of running a trucking company.
The training took place at the OTA Training Center in Westerville, Ohio, and focused on roadside inspections and out-of-service criteria. Joe, Aaron and Drew reviewed how roadside inspections are conducted, what inspectors are looking for and how violations are enforced. Attendees also received a practical demonstration using commercial motor vehicle parts and accessories.
