Public hearings scheduled on Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

The PUCO has scheduled two public hearings and comment deadlines regarding provisions of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (IIJA).

The hearing topics, dates and comment deadlines are as follows:

Demand Response: initial and reply comments are due January 10 and January 24, 2023. A public hearing will take place February 8, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the PUCO offices in Columbus.

Electric Vehicle Charging: initial and reply comments are due February 1 and February 16, 2023. A public hearing will take place February 22, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the PUCO offices in Columbus.

AES Ohio

AES Ohio public hearing scheduled

A local public hearing has been scheduled in Dayton regarding AES Ohio's application for approval of its electric security plan.

The hearing will take place on February 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dayton Municipal Building Commission Chambers.

Rail crossing upgrades

The PUCO has approved several railroad crossing safety upgrades this month. More information is available at the links below:

The PUCO is responsible for evaluating Ohio’s public grade crossings to determine the need for installing active warning devices. Since the PUCO began implementing these evaluations, the annual number of train-motor vehicle crashes in Ohio has decreased significantly, from 356 in 1990 to 53 in 2021.
