OPSB denies application to construct electric transmission line in Youngstown
The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has denied an application filed by American Transmission Systems, Inc. (ATSI) to construct an electric transmission line in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The 6-mile long 138-kilovolt transmission line was proposed to extend from the existing Lincoln Park Substation to the existing Riverbend Substation.
In consideration of the significant number of public comments received, the OPSB determined that ATSI did not sufficiently demonstrate that the proposed transmission line would serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity as required under Ohio law.
