PUCO approves Duke Energy Ohio settlement agreement, including a $133 customer credit
The PUCO has approved a settlement agreement resolving several natural gas regulatory cases involving Duke Energy Ohio. As a result, many of Duke Energy Ohio’s natural gas customers will see a large bill credit of approximately $133.
The settlement agreement resolves proceedings related to Duke Energy Ohio’s 2013-2019 expenses for environmental remediation of manufactured gas plants, and the implementation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017.

PUCO schedules hearing for persistent “Call before you dig” violator
The PUCO has scheduled a hearing on May 12 regarding Cornerstone Basement Solutions, LLC for repeated violations of Ohio’s underground protection laws, commonly referred to as “call before you dig”.
The purpose of the May 12 hearing is to provide Cornerstone Basement Solutions with an opportunity to respond to the allegations that in four separate instances, the company failed to have underground lines marked, three of which resulted in damage to underground natural gas lines.
