Utility assistance programs for winter
Several assistance programs are still available throughout the 2021 - 2022 heating season. These programs can offer one-time payments to avoid disconnection or make high winter heating costs more affordable year-round.
Programs available include the Winter Reconnect Order, the Winter Crisis Program, the Percentage of Income Payment Plan and more.

New audit of FirstEnergy Ohio utilities’ DMR now available
A new audit report of FirstEnergy Ohio utilities’ distribution modernization rider is now available. The audit report was ordered by the PUCO on Dec. 30, 2020 in response to the allegations surrounding the passage of Amended Substitute House Bill 6 during the 133rd General Assembly.
The audit report, prepared by Daymark Energy Advisors, examined whether the revenues collected by the utilities from rider DMR were used for its stated purpose of supporting the utilities’ grid modernization investments.

OPSB approves solar energy project in Licking County, electric transmission line in Lorain County
The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has approved an application filed by Union Ridge Solar, LLC to construct a solar‑powered electric generating facility in Licking County.
The OPSB also approved an application filed by American Transmission Systems, Inc. (ATSI) to construct the Beaver-Wellington Transmission Line Project in Lorain County.
