Frontier landline service
The PUCO ordered staff to file a formal complaint against Frontier North, Inc. regarding the telephone provider’s landline service quality.
The PUCO has received numerous customer complaints regarding extended service outages which may result in safety concerns
On Aug. 13, 2019, the PUCO staff filed a letter to the Commission citing 33 specific instances where Frontier allegedly failed to provide adequate and reliable telephone service to its basic local exchange service customers and recommended the Commission conduct a thorough investigation.

OneSource Energy
The PUCO ordered One Source Energy to cease operations by September 6.
In its order, the Commission found One Source is unable to demonstrate that it is in compliance with Ohio laws and regulations to reliably provide natural gas service to its customers.
The Commission also affirmed an Aug. 20, 2019 directive from the PUCO’s attorney examiner requiring One Source to file a plan by August 23 detailing how it will safely retire and abandon its system on or before September 6, including a communications plan and notice to its customers how it will do so safely.

Vectren distribution rate increase
The PUCO approved a settlement agreement that resolves Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio’s distribution rate case, infrastructure replacement program, and capital expenditure program.
As a result, an average residential customer will see an increase of approximately $6.99 in their monthly bill. However, the Commission also noted that a pending proceeding related to a rate reduction as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 will help offset this rate increase. Expected reductions are approximately $82.6 million prior to tax adjustments.
