Patrol announces locations for statewide OVI checkpoint |

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that statewide OVI checkpoints will be conducted in the below counties and locations tonight:
- Allen County – state Route 81 near milepost 19 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Hancock County – Tiffin Avenue from 9:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Crawford County – County Road 330, west of U.S. 30 from 8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sandusky County – Rawson Avenue from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Lorain County – 1101 Lake Avenue from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
- Stark County – 1701 Mahoning Road NE from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- Ashtabula County – U.S. 20 at State Road from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Trumbull County – Elm Road south of North River Road from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Champaign County – U.S. Highway 36 near Community Drive from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Greene County – Main Street from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Montgomery County – South Smithville Road from 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
- Logan County – Main Street, north of Avon Lake, from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- Delaware County – state Route 37 West and Lexington Blvd. from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- Franklin County – Frank Road at Gantz Road from 8:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Licking County – state Route 79 at Scioto Drive from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Madison County – U.S. 42 near milepost 8 from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- Knox County – West Hight Street near Old Delaware from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
- Guernsey County – U.S. 22 near milepost 6 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Muskingum County – 1623 West Main Street in Zanesville from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Brown County – Tri-County Highway at Boyd Road from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Hamilton County – Pfeiffer Road from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Lawrence County – South 3rd Street at Commerce Drive from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Ross County – U.S. 50 near milepost 21 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Pickaway County – South Court Street from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
The statewide OVI checkpoints, paid for by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoints will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.
If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a sober driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
